Posters

All attendees are invited to submit an abstract (max 400 words) and present a poster. As for the previous Gravel Bed Rivers workshops, posters will be uploaded to the website and will be displayed at the congress venue. A selection of posters will be invited to a short PIsCO presentation. Authors of posters will be invited to submit a manuscript to a special issue on a peer-reviewed journal. Full instructions for submitting abstracts are given on the website. Download the GBR-abstract-template-1 and poster Template GBR9 2022.

All posters will be available on the conference website prior to and during the conference. Details for uploading a poster will be available later.

Poster board are in vertical format (ideally), and authors can make use of the full dimension of 900 mm width x 1200 mm height.

Instructions for submitting posters follow those from the European Geophysical Union (EGU).

  • The presentation must cover the material as cited in the abstract.
  • Place the title of your paper clearly at the top of the poster board to allow viewers to identify your paper. Indicate title and authors’ names.
  • Highlight the authors’ names, e-mails, and address information in case the viewer is interested in contacting you for more information.
  • Prepare all diagrams or charts neatly and legibly beforehand, in a size sufficient to be read at a distance of 1.5–2.0 meters. The type is recommended to be 2.5 centimeters high. Use different colors or line-types for each line or bars contained in your graph or chart.
  • Use different colors and textures/symbols for each line or bar contained in your graph or chart. A serif font (e.g., Times) is often easier for reading main text, and a non-serif font (e.g., Arial or Helvetica) for headers and figure labels.
  • Organize the poster in a way that it is clear, orderly, and self-explanatory. The poster must cover the same content as the abstract. Label different elements as 1, 2, 3, or A, B, C. This will make it easier for a viewer to follow your display.
  • Include the background of your research followed by results and conclusions. The success of a poster presentation is contingent on how well you convey the information to an interested audience.
  • Please ensure that the paper you print your poster on does not shine through.
